If school allowed us to learn by trial and failure our society would be ruined. Everyone would experiment with illegal drugs and end up killing themselves. The question is: Is it better to actually learn, experiment, and have fun or to follow the advice of others, live to a ripe old age, and die regretfull. I bet people in both situations are regretfull. Thus the only logical solution is to walk the line between insanity and rationality with much care, but not too much care for fear of being too rational. Ugh. Time to stop having fun philosopising and start formulaic homework. OHWOIEHROSKFWNELIEBERHOSEN!?!
