In schools today there is little "true" learning. Failure is discouraged. A formula of learning, of memorize and repeat replace learning through trial and error. Ideas are force fed instead of realized and morals instituted rather than believed in. Students are told that all people are created equal, to treat others kindly and fairly, and that everyone has inner beauty, but they do not see these for themselves. Only by living, only by messing up or seeing other mess up, can someone decipher what is truly moral. After watching a masterful portrayl of wrong moral beliefs in "American History X" there is no doubt in my mind that all these setiments about equality are true to the core. I highly reccomend it.
