religion is the art of compromise between the assertions that each person is an individual and we are all the same thing, just put into different circumstances. Unlike gange, I am an exclusivist; there cannot be more than one correct answer. I believe all the suffering in this world shows that everything is not alright. I wish for a single truth, therefore because there are different compromises, different religions, only one can be true. religions compromise in other ways to appeal to a larger audience. power is both gained and compromised as the religions muddle their messages to give them a larger following on a less defined course. I believe therefore in either a universal religion or singular ones. Which is correct? There are movements in both directions. Will one prevail or will the world remain a compromise?

I passed up a perfectly good opportunity to run unclothed through campus while my fellow drunk students throw snowballs at my naked body. Oh well, there is usually next year.

What do you think about when you are arrested? I thought about my mom, my dad, calling them, and... my computer. So sad. When I thought of freedom, I thought of downloading illegal music. I also worried about telling my parents. I also thought, (arrogantly) "so much for having a clean record so I ever become president or britney spears or something." When I was being booked I was told what the limitations on my punishment were, a $1,000 fine or a year in jail. They tried to scare me, and succeeded. As they took me out of the dorm, I was allowed to put on my coat. Luckily I put on the one without the ninja star in the pocket so I wasn't able to....kiLL THEM ALL!

It's comforting to know that at 5:30 in the morning you can be woken up and arrested for something you had no idea was illegal.
Psychology plays a big role in being arrested. The police will toy with you all the way to the station. The hangcuffs, they put you in the same league as any of the worst rapists or mass murderers as does anyother procedure you've seen on tv or in a movie. The fingerprinting with ink is completely unecessary. They could have much more advanced equipment that could do it just as well in a fraction of the time, but it is not about speed. It is about control. Sheer power to control where you put your hands and how they can take all the time from you that they want. They hold your hand (with gloves on) and physically move your fingers where they want them. If the psychological submission isn't obvious to the detainee, the brute force the officer has over their often used and easily breakable fingers. The temperature of the room you are in is cold. You are starved for information, for friendly contact. They control what you hear... except when they read the miranda rights... Oh the miranda rights... how I love thee.... how I would cut and burn and kill for thee... sweet words of rights and freedoms coming from the mouth of my oppressor! I was so pleased to hear him growl my right to remain silent that I smiled for one of my mug shots.

I thought I had accepted my life as is. I thought I had begun to live life out of habit rather than desire. I took a shower. The hot water relaxed my muscles and mind. As my soul unwound I saw holes in it. I found myself still uncomplete. A void dwelled in my heart, threatening to collapse it. But what was it that I lack? I spat at myself with almost reflex speed the answer, the need. I need someone to love completely. Where I see people that would accept my love, I see criminals. People who operate only out of motive, giving me attention because of who I am, not because I am a person like anyone else.
